Q. How can we tell if the act is
going to be any good?
A. Browsing through the web site of the entertainer should give you a good idea
on how well the entertainer does his job. There should be plenty of photos of
the live performance with positive reactions from the spectators. The same goes
for the videos. There should be positive testimonials and kudos from satisfied
wedding clients.
Q. How long do you perform for?
A. Most bookings tend to be two to three hours; this normally covers for example
a photo reception, eating period or evening slot.
Q. What is the cheapest I can book a professional
magician?
A. The minimum you should expect to pay for hiring/booking a real full-time professional
magician
should be from around £400 plus travel expenses. A professional magician
will have to pay bills and a mortage out of his wages. They need to pay for professional
services such as accountants, marketing, promotional material. It's in his best
interest to offer an outstanding
act at a fair price.

Q. How many people can you entertain
at a wedding function?
A. No number is to small or big. The basic rule of thumb
is 1 magician per up-to 120 guests.
Q. I have had a few price quotes
for my wedding from a number of magicians and the fee’s
vary greatly. Why is this so?
A. As with prety much eveything you get what you pay for. The
fee should be a direct reflection of the
quality
of
service
you
will be
buying. If you were to spend very little
on the wedding cake you know it's not going to be an amazingly
spectacular cake.
Q. How far do you travel?
A. Travelling is a part of the job. Dorian performs all over the United Kingdom
and also over seas. As well as his native UK, he has performed magic in Germany,
Switzerland, France and the USA.

Q. How far in advance do I need
to book?
A. It does not hurt to check availability as soon as you have a date set for
the wedding. Many popular dates get booked up way in advance, such as summer
weekends. All bookings are taken on a first come first served basis. Bookings
can be taken
up to 18 months in advance of the wedding date.
Q. Do I need to pay a deposit?
A. Yes. A small deposit (normally about 20% of the fee) secures the booking.
Q. Do you have Public Liability Insurance (PLI)?
A. Absolutely. All professionals that work in the public domain must have this.
Ask them to send you a copy of their policy certificate.

Q. I have a very low budget.
A. Not all magicians are the same and hiring a cheap magician is a bad
idea. Your
wedding is a special day and you need experienced, specialist people for the
jobs. If your budget really is that low it may not be the best idea to have a
magician
at all. If you want to book a magician then try to make sure it’s a really
good one.
Q. Is it possible to meet up with you and see a demo before
deciding to book your services?
A. It does not hurt to ask if something can be arranged.
As a busy full-time professional and depending where you are
based it might be tricky to arrange, but on the other hand
being well-travelled Dorian might be right on your doorstep
in the
near future and
can pop around at little or no expense at all.
Q. What sort of magic tricks do you perform?
A. Answering that question would spoil the surprise. Let’s
just say it’s all great original stuff and nothing cheesy.

Q. Do you have any references from previous bookers?
A. Absolutely! The KUDOS page on this web site has a list of
appraisals from the many satisfied wedding clients.
Q. We want to book you but have not decided on times yet. Is
this OK?
A. That’s fine. As time goes on, should
a second enquiry come in for the same date you will be contacted
first to see
if you have decided on a time and work the other booking around
that.
Q. There are no prices on the
web site, why not?
A. Every event is quoted for on its own merit and requirements.

Q. What’s the best method
to get hold of you / contact you.
A. To contact the Dorian the wedding magician you can telephone
him on the numbers on the contact page of this web site. You
can send an email or fill out the form. Every effort is taken
to respond as soon as possible to answer all enquiries.
Q. Is this really your full-time job?
A. Yes. It pays the bills; feed’s the family and keeps
a roof over our heads.
Q. Which areas in the UK do you
cover?
A. Dorian regularly works all over the UK.
Q. What if you are ill and can't make it to our event?
A. To date Dorian has never been late or not turned up for
a booking. Should he be taken ill he does work with a small
handful of truly fab magicians and can get the job covered
no problems.
